A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic by TravelPod blogger Aberweger titled “Arrival in Santo Domingo” Aberweger’s travel blog entry: “So… we arrive in Santo Domingo and the first thought… WOW – I’m in the Caribbean!!!! … Ok.. I really don’t realise it… but… that’s the fact… and … omg.. it’s hot! Definitely! Over 30° C! So we take our baggage and leave the airport. There are 2 people from our company which pick us up. We drive into the Capital City Santo Domingo. Our hotel is in the colonial part of the town. There are already so many impressions! So many new things. We drive along the sea. It’s still amazing… I already know that I will come back! So we arrive in our hotel and I move into my single room. Like an hour later we go out for a dinner. In the lobby we meet some guys from Usa. Was very funny to talk with them. We take place onn the next corner in a cute restaurant with great food. Of course I had the typical Dominican food… That means fish, beans and rice! I love it! We meet a woman from the same company. But she’s from Haiti. She tells us a lot about the situation in the Dominican Republic, the war in Haiti… and other interesting storys,… We walk a little bit through the streets and see the house of Columbus and other historical monuments. In the hotel do we have our first drink of this trip! The others go to bed. I take my lap top, go down to the hotel lobby and write my first impressions

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Cabarete, Dominican Republic by TravelPod blogger Lifeforce1 titled “27 Waterfalls” Lifeforce1’s travel blog entry: “Up early, today it was time for “27 waterfalls of Damajagua”. First we had to pick up the other members from another hotel, they were from California (Kite dad and Kite son) they were very relaxed and nice. We started the adventure by crossing a river then we wandered in the river bed, while climbing up the waterfalls. The pace was a little bit too fast (It felt like the guides were a little bit bored and a little bit pushy). But their hands were very steady and helpful. It was a very beautiful surrounding, but the workout demanded all our attention to not slip. I did my best trying to document this adventure but keeping the camera lens dry was almost impossible, above that I had to face my fears of jumping from high cliffs into unknown water. The joke of the day “The guide pointed at a plant and told us it was coffee then (Kite dad) asked if it was an espresso plant or a decaf plant, the guide didn’t seem to understand the joke? or wasn’t it a joke at all?” I let you decide! It was a great challenge this adventure but the end was not so good another Dominican food buffet without any spices…and the guides waiting for tip. We had already paid 79 dollar for this and they were not impressed by our 200 DOP tip… Back to our hotel and then to my favorite cafe, espresso (doble)+ cheesecake and apple cake. I

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Sosua, Dominican Republic by TravelPod blogger Jeremyj titled “Sosua” Jeremyj’s travel blog entry: “After spending some time in Cabarete and avoiding some major storms, I spent a day in Sosua before heading to Las Terrenas. I had the chance to speak to the locals and walk around the quiet town and enjoy tasty Dominican food. It’s very quiet time of the year here and with the rain it makes it more difficult to interact with others. Although Playa Sosua is nice, I think I enjoyed Cabarete much more.” Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. “Building” 2. “Beach 1″ 3. “Beach 2″ 4. “Beach 3″ 5. “Window View” 6. “Sosua” 7. “Beach 4″ 8. “Sosua 2″ See this TripWow and more at tripwow.tripadvisor.com
